{"id":11407,"date":"2022-02-09T12:35:03","date_gmt":"2022-02-09T17:35:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/staffsenate\/?p=11407"},"modified":"2025-08-03T10:41:44","modified_gmt":"2025-08-03T14:41:44","slug":"staff-senate-roadside-cleanup-scheduled-for-february-23rd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/staffsenate\/2022\/02\/09\/staff-senate-roadside-cleanup-scheduled-for-february-23rd\/","title":{"rendered":"Staff Senate Roadside Cleanup Scheduled for February 23rd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the NC DOT Adopt-A-Highway program, Staff Senate has adopted Old Cullowhee Rd from the intersection of Hwy 107 to Bayside Dr.<\/p>\n<p>Our next roadside litter pickup will be <strong>Wednesday, February 23rd 2:00p to 4:00pm<\/strong> for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcu.edu\/stories\/posts\/sixth-annual-i-love-wcu-month-has-new-partnership-with-tech-commons.aspx\">I Love WCU<\/a> month.<\/p>\n<p>Any and all staff or faculty are invited to participate.<\/p>\n<p>Caravans will leave campus around 1:45 pm from the Bardo parking lot. Cleanup is expected to take approximately 2 hours.<br \/>\nPlease wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty, shoes appropriate for walking a mile, and sun protection such as hat and sunglasses. Vests, gloves and trash bags will be provided. Event open to anyone age 18 and older.
