For the fourth year in a row, the Staff Senate has partnered with the Office of Administration and Finance to provide supplementary funds for departments that do not have adequate funding to support their staff\u2019s professional development goals.<\/p>\n Carrie Hachadurian, was a recipient of this award last year. She stated, “The Staff Senate Professional Development Fund helped pay for a 12-week class that I completed through the National Career Development Association and paid for two credentialing examinations: Global Career Development Facilitator and the Certified Career Services Provider. The class helped me sharpen my skill sets as a career development professional so that I am able to provide inclusive and holistic services to students and alumni. Not only have these credentials been instrumental in providing more effective services, they also helped me achieve a promotion this summer. I am very grateful for the funds the Staff Senate provided to help pay for both the class and the examination fees!”<\/em><\/p>\n The Staff<\/strong>\u00a0Senate is beyond thankful for a generous budget this academic year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Eligible professional development activities are funded up to $750, per employee, and are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you plan to participate in professional development activities this year and your department doesn\u2019t have sufficient funds, consider applying for this opportunity. This fund is intended to be a supplemental fund; therefore, you must ask your supervisor for departmental funding before applying for this award.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\nLet us help you focus on YOU!<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n
