How long have you been working at WCU\/Human Resources?<\/strong> I have been with WCU for 37 years.\u00a0 I began work at WCU in 1987.\u00a0 I worked in several different areas of campus and in 2006 I was fortunate enough to become part of the Human Resources office.\u00a0 I began working in recruitment as an HR Specialist doing the advertisement and hiring of Faculty and EHRA non-faculty.\u00a0 My role evolved when WCU began a partnership with an outside vendor and we implemented an applicant\/tracking and position management software.\u00a0 In 2015, we re-implemented the new version of that product and this is today\u2019s Talent Management.<\/p>\n Why did you choose Human Resources as a career?<\/strong> I must confess that I did not actively choose Human Resources as a career.\u00a0 I applied for a posting that looked very interesting and once I was hired \u2013 they just couldn\u2019t be rid of me!\u00a0 18 years in the Human Resources office have taught me so much.<\/p>\n What is your role in Human Resources?<\/strong> My role has evolved from recruitment to classification\/compensation and now to a role as an IT analyst supporting the Talent Management software as well as our document imaging software, I-9 solution software, and Banner.<\/p>\n What do you like most about working at WCU?<\/strong> My family teases that I bleed purple and to an extent that is so very true.\u00a0 I began as an undergraduate student in 1982 and as with the Human Resources office, once WCU let me in the door\u00a0 – I would never leave.\u00a0 Hands down the PEOPLE at WCU are my favorite thing about working at WCU.\u00a0 We are a team in every sense of the word working toward the common goal of changing lives\u00a0 – no matter how \u2013 we all serve our students first and foremost and we support each other as well.<\/p>\n I am so very grateful to WCU.\u00a0 This is where I was meant to be.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" How long have you been working at WCU\/Human Resources?
