Our January 2025 WNC Elementary STEM Community of Practice virtual gathering highlighted Eco Explorers! Diving into Hellbender Conservation at Rosman Elementary. This project provided an inspiring example of collaboration and community engagement between Tammy Kiser (5th grade teacher), Liz Beck (Learning Designer with RootEd), and Anne Krichten (Director of Education at the Chattanooga Zoo). Students dug into science content, engaged in a range of literacy activities, raised community awareness, and continue to advocate for hellbender conservation. Find out more by visiting these links:
