NCAMP mediators, Judith Ogden and Debra Burke attended the Annual Sustainable Agriculture Conference in Durham, North Carolina to share the mediation process with the agricultural and mediation community.

Cullowhee, NC – November 8, 2022 – Judith Ogden, Mediation Director, and Debra Burke, Executive Director, for the North Carolina Agricultural Mediation Program (NCAMP,) spoke at the Annual Sustainable Agriculture Conference by the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association in Durham, North Carolina from November 5-7. The conference took place at the Durham Conference Center and on seven different farms for On-Farm Intensives on Monday, November 7.

The Sustainable Agriculture Conference consisted of over 80 skill-building sessions with 160 speakers, more than 55 exhibits at their tradeshow, and demonstrations by those in the agricultural community. Ogden and Burke met with various attendees about the services NCAMP offers, like credit counseling assistance and agricultural mediation that covers disputes involving:

  • Natural Resource Conservation Services (NRCS)

The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association has hosted this event annually since 1986 to celebrate innovation in local sustainable agriculture and to promote stewardship, advocacy, and community.CFSA also offers free consulting services for members that include food safety, organic certification, food councils, conservation activity plans, and high tunnels.
