The American Farmland Trust sponsored an online webinar on “Building Trust with Land Transfer Clients” on January 13, 2025, part of the Land Transfer Forum – Southeast Region. Bob Holbert, Mediation Director of NCAMP and FARM-VA participated in the event. Presenter Addie Candib (Pacific Northwest Regional Director of American Farmland Truist) described the three types of trust needed in the process: Abstract Trust, Particularized Trust, and Institutional Trust. Both in her presentation, as well as in group breakout sessions, the different components of trust were identified. Trust is an integral part of success in dispute resolution, succession planning, and generally for support and assistance to agricultural producers. The webinar was a valuable learning experience.
