On Monday, February 24, Mediation Director Bob Holbert visited with the new leadership at some of the USDA State Offices in Raleigh, i.e., Tracie Jones, the new Acting State Executive Director of the Farm Service Agency in North Carolina and Mel Ellis, the new Acting State Director of Rural Development in North Carolina.. Tracie is a career employee of FSA and brings much experience to the position while Mr. Ellis is a career employee also with his entire work history being with RD. Both these fine public servants have other duties within the agency which they are currently performing along with acting director tasks. The new Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, originally from Glen Rose, Texas, will be appointing permanent State Directors for these agencies in the near future.
