On January 22, 2026, the Henderson County Cooperative Extension Service sponsored the Henderson County Land Summit at their office in Jackson Park, Hendersonville, NC. NCAMP’s Mediation Director, Bob Holbert, gave a presentation on NCAMP and its services. Other presenters included: Evan Davis of NCDA&CS (Forever Farms) concerning farmland preservation and conservation easements, Angela Price, Henderson County’s new representative working mostly with farmland preservation, Henderson County Tax Supervisor speaking on present use tax evaluation, Conserving Carolina, and Stephen Bishop with NC FarmLink. Andrew Branan from NCSU Extension was on hand to answer legal questions concerning farm succession and other agricultural issues. This was a comprehensive workshop with many elements of interest to farmland owners.
