Producers of tomatoes and other vegetable crops were gathered from throughout North Carolina as well as several neighboring states.  Educational classes on many tenets of vegetable production from plant varieties, pest management, fertilizer (both conventional and organic), cultural practices, harvesting, packaging, marketing; and many other subjects; were held during the conference. The event was also a good time to network with USDA, other agencies and entities, and programs specializing in assistance to farmers.  NCAMP/FARM-VA made several valuable contacts to help us achieve our mission in providing mediation services to farmers.
