The International Farm Transition Network (IFTN) has been presenting Succession Coordinator Training for the past two weeks (September 10-19, 2024). Kiley Fleming (outSIGHTin and Iowa Mediation Service) and Joy Kirkpatrick (University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension) were the trainers. Their presentations covered: 1) Foundations of Interpersonal Dynamics, 2) Philosophy of Process, 3) Barriers in the Process, and 4) Participant Driven Outcomes. The interesting and valuable lectures and activities were very helpful for all parties involved with farm succession work. Bob Holbert, Mediation Director for NCAMP and FARM-VA attended these training sessions seeking certification as a Succession Coordinator. He noted that the training was excellent and will be a great help to agricultural mediation services in North Carolina and Virginia.
