The Haywood County Farm Succession Workshop was held March 27, 2025 at the Haywood County Livestock Center in Canton, NC. NCAMP’s Mediation Director, Bob Holbert, was among the presenters at the workshop. Bob explained NCAMP (and FARM-VA) to the attendees and the services the programs provide. Farmers were present from Haywood, Buncombe, Davidson, Polk, and other NC Counties. Other presenters included NC FarmLink – Noah Rannels and Stephen Bishop, NCDA&CS (Conservation Easements) – Sabrina Schaffer, Emily Hansen from Western and Southern Insurance Company (estate planning), 3 estate attorneys who provided a panel discussion, a farm economist, Brittany Whitmire, from NCSU Cooperative Extension Service, Haywood County Soil & Water conservation District, the keynote speaker – Andrew Branan from NCSU and others. Mr. Branan is also an advisory board member for NCAMP and FARM-VA.
