Faculty Fellows

The CFC is pleased to welcome returning Faculty Fellows Resa Chandler, Brittany Hudgins Graham, and Alesia Jennings. In addition to the returning Faculty Fellows, the CFC is excited to announce the addition of Chad Hallyburton & Darby Harris to the team of Faculty Fellows for the 2024-25 academic year. 

Resa Chandler

Resa Chandler is a third-year CFC Faculty Fellow for the design and implementation of faculty mentoring programs. After researching successful faculty mentoring models, Resa launched CFC’s inaugural 2024-2025 Faculty Mentoring Learning Community for new faculty. Resa is an Associate Professor in the School of Teaching and Learning and is in her ninth year teaching Exercise Physiology at WCU.

Chad Hallyburton

Chad Hallyburton is a first-year Faculty Fellow with the CFC, partnering with April Tallant on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. His teaching background focuses on infectious disease and public health, and he and his undergraduate research students study factors impacting vaccine decision-making in the healthcare fields and elsewhere. Chad is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the College of Health and Human Science. 

Darby Harris

Darby Harris is a first-year Faculty Fellow with the CFC, partnering with April Tallant on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. He is a member of the Biology Department and teaches a wide variety of courses from human genetics to plant molecular biology. One of his primary responsibilities is to develop and implement the cell and molecular biology laboratory curriculum, where he strives to engage students in a collaborative and intentional learning environment. 

Brittany Hudgins-Graham

Brittany Hudgins-Graham is a second-year Faculty Fellow. She is in her third year of teaching nursing courses at WCU. Brittany will continue to partner with Eli Collins-Brown, CFC Director, to investigate developing an online teaching certificate for faculty who teach online courses. 

Alesia Jennings

Alesia Jennings is joining us for her third year as a Faculty Fellow. Alesia partners with April Tallant on Faculty Forward, workshops designed to enhance teaching self-efficacy for faculty new to WCU. The design of their workshop series was presented at two conferences and has been published. Alesia Jennings is in her eleventh-year teaching Chemistry and University Experience courses at WCU.
