Faculty Mentoring Learning Community

The Faculty Mentoring Learning Community (FLMC) is a year-long program that empowers new tenure-track faculty to excel in every facet of academia—from teaching and research to workplace satisfaction and career advancement.

Built on an evidence-based learning community model, the FMLC creates an inclusive, interdisciplinary space where experienced mentors guide participants through collaborative growth and foster lasting professional connections.

Tailored to each cohort’s unique needs, the FMLC focuses on key topics for success:

    • Promotion and tenure
    • Engaged teaching
    • Scholarly development
    • Work-life integration
    • Building effective mentoring relationship

The Faculty Mentoring Learning Community is coordinated by Dr. Resa Chandler, who can be reached at tmchandler@wcu.edu
