Nancy Turner Braswell Gibson passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Winston-Salem, N.C., on July 6, 1937.
Nancy’s careers as an organist, choir director, and educator spanned 28 years in Winston-Salem and 10 years in Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Harry Turner; her loving husband, Julian Gibson; her sister, Dee Turner White; her brother, Heck Turner; her son, Brodt Braswell; and her stepson, Dick Gibson.
Nancy is survived by her large and loving extended family, including Beverly Braswell, Shelly Whittington, Pat Addison, Bob Gibson, and their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C., followed by a reception in the Centenary Memorial Auditorium at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
