Joyce Anne Hill Driggers, 84, slipped peacefully into eternal rest at her home in Landrum, SC, on Monday, August 10th, 2026.
A native of Edneyville (Henderson County) NC, Joyce was born on March 17th, 1942 to James Arthur and Ruby Pendleton Hill. After graduating from High School, Joyce went to Western Carolina College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and became a History teacher at Edneyville Jr. High School before becoming a Librarian at Edneyville Primary School and then Edneyville Elementary School. Leaving the field of education to raise her family, she later became Assistant Manager for Kentucky Fried Chicken, retiring after twenty years of service. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Arthur Hill and Ruby Gold Pendleton Hill; and her husband of forty-two years, Larry Anthony Driggers.
Surviving Joyce are her children; sons, James C. Driggers of Hendersonville, NC, and John A. Driggers (Amy) of Palatka, FL and daughter, Ruby Ridings (Les) of Chesnee, SC; nine grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
Services for Joyce will be held on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 635 Gilliam Mountain Rd., Edneyville, NC., with a visitation beginning at 1:00pm and funeral beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church cemetery.
