Jerry Steven Collins, age 80, of Fair Bluff, NC, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026 in Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, Whiteville, NC.
Born June 6, 1946 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Charles Robert Collins and Ruth Beaver Collins.
Jerry became an Eagle Scout at age 17. Continuing his education, he graduated from Western Carolina University, enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve and went on to serve in United States Navy. He worked in the printing industry for 25 years, and then retired as a general contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Holt Collins; one daughter, Mellinee McDowell and husband Greg of Fair Bluff, NC; one sister, Jenny Belk of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; and one granddaughter, Breyley Hunt of Bolivia, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Barry Robert Collins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church.
