Nancy Drye Cowan, 74, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026. Born in Concord, North Carolina, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Jessie and Clara Drye.
Nancy graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in education and devoted her career to teaching with patience and compassion. She was known for her warm smile, generous heart and quiet strength that comforted everyone around her. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her Christian faith provided comfort and guidance throughout her life.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Teresa; her brother, David; three sons; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Guil-Rand Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family and friends are also invited to a Celebration of Life honoring Nancy on Saturday, September 12, in Kernersville, NC.
