A group of students in the public relations campaigns class made a campaign for the WCU radio station over the course of the semester.

Logan Chapman, Hayden Alexander, Ryan Brown, Sydney Skidmore and Logan Johnson are the students who worked on this campaign for the 95.3 radio station here at Western.

“The major goal that we are striving to achieve is to create awareness of the radio station and to also celebrate the 75th anniversary,” said Chapman.

The radio station has recently added a new frequency of WWUU 95.3. These students have worked all semester to make this campaign and during that time, they have been working on a radio show.

“My favorite aspect of this campaign has been creating the 75th anniversary radio show. It has been an amazing experience and I have really enjoyed recording the show with the members in my group,” said Chapman.

The students have shown off their public relations skills they have learned throughout the semester such as Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned media (P.E.S.O.) and increasing audience awareness about the station.

“This campaign is very beneficial to students because it shows how students in the COMM department can be involved with the radio station. With the completion of this campaign, my group hopes to inspire other students to get involved with the station,” said Chapman.

The campaign presentation for the radio station group will be Monday, May 1.
