February marked the first off-campus WheeTV production of the semester.
WheeTV was invited to cover Asheville’s Mardi Gras parade on Sunday, February 15.
Despite the rainy weather, the team of 12 students was eager to participate in the event.
Hours before the start of the parade, the crew loaded gear into vehicles and traveled to L.A. Pizza Party, the chosen location for the shoot.

Cameras were placed alongside the parade route, while talent and other crew members observed the parade from the balcony on-site.
This year’s parade theme was “Life is a Carnival” and featured many colorful floats, decorations and costumes.
“The crew did an excellent job overcoming technical difficulties and weather complications,” said Jacob Pendergraph, WheeTV’s general manager. “I’m very proud of how they rose to the occasion and made a great product for Asheville Mardi Gras.”

The finished product was uploaded to WheeTV’s YouTube channel on February 17.
Coverage of the parade marked the second time WheeTV has filmed a production in Asheville.
Last semester WheeTV covered the annual Asheville Holiday Parade.
