Undergraduate Research Exposition
The Undergraduate Research Exposition provides students with the opportunity to work with faculty to present their research to an engaged audience on campus. This annual expo features student poster, oral, performance, and exhibit presentations.
Graduate Research Symposium
The Graduate Research Symposium highlights graduates’ research poster presentations, oral presentations, the academic paper competition, and the 3-minute Thesis competition.
This annual symposium provides graduate students with the opportunity to present their research to an engaged audience.
2022 Featured Presentations
The 2022 Research and Scholarship Conference theme is The Impact of Mentoring: Advancing Processes in Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity.
Mentoring relationships are vital to the advancement of knowledge and part of the process to advance a discipline’s collective expertise, skills, and techniques to the next generation, yet it is often understated and poorly acknowledged. The 2022 Research and Scholarship Conference wishes to highlight the impact of mentoring in research, scholarship, and creative activities that faculty-student mentoring teams have advanced.

The 30th Graduate Research Symposium presents the first annual Faculty 3-minute Thesis competition.

The Research & Scholarship Conference at Western Carolina University is made up of the Undergraduate Expo and the Graduate Research Symposium. This showcase academic event is hosted by The Office of the Provost, The Graduate School and Research, and the Brinson Honors College.
