Project Abstract:

Knowledge of historic Cherokee cultural sites has greatly diminished over the past hundred years. The incorporation of historical and cultural sites into a virtual interactive map provides a means to investigate the historical record and allow people to explore the information. Records of Cherokee heritage sites remain unexamined. I collected information and mapped sites through investigating significant unpublished ethnographic materials which had not yet been examined. The virtual map interface will allow members of the Cherokee community to engage with these places and their histories.
