Western Carolina University’s chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists will hold its first meeting of the semester on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 5:30 p.m.

SPJ was established in 2013 and since then the organization consistently organizes workshops for students such as the Google NewsLab, News Photography and Facebook workshops. The WCU Chapter of SPJ attends conferences in the region and nationally through SPJ. The organization also holds fundraisers and competitions to support the local community.
