Recently a vote by the general faculty on two amendments to the Faculty Constitution was conducted by CONEC. The online vote was conducted from February 6th to 12th. Both amendments passed with more than 2/3 majority and will now appear in future version of the Faculty Handbook.
The proposed amendment formalized the voting process for faculty members to the Advisory Board of the Center for the Study of Free Enterprise. The amendment passed with 98 in favor and 4 agains (102 votes total)
The second proposed amendment would change the selection of faculty to the University Athletics Committee from 3 voted by the faculty, 3 appointed by the Chancellor to 6 voted by the faculty. The Faculty Senate leadership will still appoint three faculty this this committee. The amendment passed with 89 in favor, 13 opposed (102 votes total)
