Call for Nominations

In recognition of all the work completed this academic year, the Southeastern LatinX Student Leadership Inaugural Conference Committee has established awards in honor and in appreciation of the faculty, staff, or student(s) who has demonstrated outstanding efforts toward advancing Inclusive excellence while maintaining academic excellence. The SL-SLC committee will recognize the outstanding contributions of students, faculty, and staff at the SL-SLC Awards Banquet. Please help us celebrate the wonderful contributions by the LatinX community by nominating the extraordinary leaders, advisors, programs, and organizations that have made an impact in the 2020-2021 academic year beginning with Fall 2020 and ending with Spring 2021.

Nominations must be submitted via the online form by March 6, 2022, at 5pm. Late and/or incomplete nominations will not be considered. The nomination form must be filled out separately for each nomination. There is no limit to the number of nominations you submit. Nominees must be attending SL-SLC or have a representative (for organizations & programs) present in order to receive an award. Please read the descriptions of the awards below and choose the award that best suits your nominee(s).

Awards and Criteria

Outstanding Advisor of the Year

This award recognizes an official advisor of a registered student organization whose commitment, energy, and impact have made an outstanding difference to their respective organization and members. This advisor possesses great knowledge, credentials, and or experiences that have given the advisor the skill set needed to advise the organization. The advisor has a strong belief in the organization that they represent. While showing a willingness to commit time to the organization and promote student’s personal growth.

Organization of the Year

This award recognizes the registered student organization that has made a significant contribution to the university and student body through programming, service, and events. The recipient would have demonstrated fulfillment of its organizational mission through its programming and activities. It also would have demonstrated how the organization embodies and instills the University’s core values: excellence, learning, accountability, integrity, shared governance, diversity, and service.

Líder del Año  

This award recognizes a student member of a registered student organization who has demonstrated a high level of leadership ability through character, work ethic, and involvement. The recipient would have made significant contributions to strengthen his or her organization and would have impacted the members of the organization and the University in a positive manner. This person must be in good academic standing (2.0 G.P.A. ≥).

Outstanding Commitment to Service Award

This award recognizes a registered student organization that has demonstrated a great level of commitment to continuous service. In addition, the organization’s willingness to serve has significantly impacted the University and community-at-large.

Volunteer Service Award

This award recognizes an individual student who has demonstrated a great level of commitment to continuous service. In addition, the student’s willingness to serve has significantly impacted the University and community-at-large.

 

Program of the Year Awards

Social Program of the Year

This award recognizes the best social program sponsored by a registered student organization that has provided a fun-spirited, entertaining atmosphere and also encouraged students to interact positively with their peers and community.

Educational Program of the Year

This award recognizes the organization that has hosted the best program that has contributed to the mission of its university, encouraged students to continue their learning outside of the classroom, and provided the community with an enriching educational experience.

Collaborative Program of the Year

This award recognizes the best co-sponsored program by registered student organizations that have demonstrated how meaningful partnerships, teamwork, and synergy can make an impact on campus. The organizations have demonstrated how each organization contributed to the success of the program.
