Human Resources

The Human Resources committee works to understand and address staff concerns and proposals in the area of salary, benefits, job classification, privatization, staff development and training, diversity and inclusion, and other issues pertaining to human resources. Our goal is to serve as a bridge between WCU Human Resources and the Staff Senate to make the University more effective on behalf of staff.

Achievements from 2020 – 2021

General Staff

  1. Supported staff’s mental health by providing the Calm App for free to all staff.
  2. Worked to support staff as they transitioned back to campus through an event “Questions from Staff, Presented by Staff Senate” to allow staff to ask questions to key stake holders regarding the pandemic. As well as, provide resources to staff through EAP and move employee resources to a more discoverable source.
