Staff Senate Scholarship
This committee leads the fundraising efforts for the Senate’s scholarship, reviews scholarship applications and awards the scholarship annually.

Initiatives for 2025 – 2026
- Fundraising: Creating meaningful opportunities for support through annual giving, holiday ornament and calendar sales, percentage-night events, and special initiatives that showcase the impact of contributions. This year’s fundraising goal is $8,000.
- Scholarship: Expanding access by building resources that provide financial support for students, recognizing excellence, and easing the burden of educational costs. The amount to be awarded for academic year 2026-2027 is $12,680.
Achievements from 2024 – 2025
Fundraising Goal
Goal: Raise $15,000 through events, ornament sales, and other means by June 30, 2021.
Progress: Despite the limitations placed in our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, over $13,000 was raised over the 2020-2021 year. We were short of our $15,000 goal, yet still able to continue strong momentum and support.
Professional Development Fund
Goal: Award $10,000 to eligible staff from the Professional Development Fund by June, 30, 2021.
Progress: $5,846.16 was awarded to qualifying EHRA and SHRA staff to pursue professional development opportunities. Travel restrictions due to COVID-19 limited opportunities, the demand for funding may have been higher if opportunities had not been diminished.
Student Scholarship
The Staff Senate Scholarship supports currently enrolled or accepted, incoming students who are children and relatives of SHRA and EHRA non-faculty employees. The scholarship is awarded to students each year through the university scholarship application process, opening on October 1 of each year. Award preference is given to immediate family members or residents of a household (including spouses, partners, parensts, siblings, dependents, stepchildren, and grandchildren) of SHRA and EHRA Non-Faculty employees, retirees, and deceased employees. Please note that the application deadline is February 1 of each year.

Staff Senate provided $11,983 in scholarships for children and relatives of SHRA and EHRA non-faculty employees!
2023 - 2024
Staff Senate provided $9,510 in scholarships for children and relatives of SHRA and EHRA non-faculty employees!
2022 - 2023
Staff Senate provided $7,587 in scholarships for children and relatives of SHRA and EHRA non-faculty employees!
