Personal Wishtree by Fiona Jiang
Book Summary
In the book Wishtree by Katherine Applegate, there is a tree named Red. The people in the neighborhood call it Wishtree because every first day of May, people tie a wish on the tree. But, one day a woman named Francesca who lived in the neighborhood decided to cut the tree down because she felt it was causing some problems. Luckily, she decided not to cut down the tree because the other people in the neighborhood wanted to keep the tree.
Challenge One
I decided to invent a miniature Wishtree. Francesca wanted to cut down the Wishtree because she felt it was causing problems. If Francesca did cut down the tree it would be ok for the people in the neighborhood who didn’t want her to cut down the tree because my project would allow them to have their own miniature Wishtree in their house. It would also allow Francesca to do what she wanted. Attached in my project is the Wishtree that I made.
We like your Wish Tree! We think that would be fun.
Fiona,
What a beautiful design for a wishing tree. This reminds me of a trip I took to Japan where we wrote down our wishes and tied them to a large bush outside of a temple. Thank you for sharing your ideas!

Your wish tree is beautiful. Maybe it would inspire people to plant even more trees, something we need! Thanks for your sharing your idea.
