Each year, the U Club hosts an event as a fundraising avenue for the Staff Senate Scholarship Fund, a scholarship supporting children and family members of WCU’s staff. Scholarship recipients are chosen based on their academic performance, community service, and financial need. This year, the U Club is hosting an online silent auction that is open to the public, with a goal of raising $10,000. Bidding will run through 8:00pm on Saturday, April 9th and anyone can participate https://www.biddingowl.com/Auction/home.cfm?auctionID=20429 Items include dining and experience gift cards, gift baskets, and many other great items. 100% of proceeds go to the Staff Senate Scholarship.
The Silent Auction will culminate with the Night on the Purple Carpet, a gala in support of student scholarships on Saturday, April 9 from 6-9pm at The Paper Mill Lounge in Sylva. Tickets are still available and tickets will be sold at the door if you haven’t had a chance to get a ticket. A $50 ticket includes live music, heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and a cocktail. Wear your best Hollywood glam and walk the purple carpet for a great cause!
