Staff Senate will be doing a “Meet the Senator” series this academic year, letting all staff know who their Staff Senators are. In the spotlight this week is Alex Fields. Alex is the Associate Director of Residence Life and this is her second year on Staff Senate. This year she is the chair of the Governance Committee. Alex loves Western because of the people at Western, the students first and foremost- and the incredible humans she gets to work with on a daily basis. Alex says “Working in Residence Life is such an honor. Living and learning alongside our students means that we are able to support them through the best and the worst parts of college. I am also lucky to work with some of the very best campus partners in the world. Coming to work every day and the work I get to do is a privilege.” Did you know that Alex is also a doctoral student? She says that her prominent hobby is reading due to her doctoral program. She is pursuing her EdD in Educational Leadership at UNC Wilmington. When she is not reading, she is spending time with her partner, Travis- or driving over the mountain to see the most adorable babies on the planet, her twin niece and nephew, Harper and Nolan! We love having Alex on Staff Senate! She is a wonderful human being and is doing great things in her career and personal life!
