Staff Senate will be doing a “Meet the Senator” series this academic year, letting all staff know who their Staff Senators are. In the spotlight this week is April Hicks. April is the Conferral Specialist in the Office of the Registrar. Even though this is April’s first full year on Staff Senate, we got to spend part of the year with her last year! April is a busy lady currently serving on the Scholarship and Professional Development Committee, The Professional Development and Scholarship Selection Committee and the Staff Engagement Committee. Her favorite part of her job is getting to help students navigate university processes from behind the scenes in many ways, and getting to support the institutions big goal of helping students graduate on time. Some fun facts about April are that she is a creator and total nerd at heart. Her favorite hobbies and past times, aside from spending time with her friends, family, and sweet doggo, include reading, writing, crafting, and making jewelry or other art. She also loves binge watching good TV shows. We are so glad to have April on Staff Senate with us!
