Staff Senate will be doing a “Meet the Senator” series this academic year, letting all staff know who their Staff Senators are. In the spotlight this week is Darylene “Moxie” Mckeldrey-Brown. Moxie is a Facilities Management Environmental Services Technician II at WCU and is one of our newly elected Senators! When Moxie was asked “Why Western?” She responded with “Why NOT!?” She first saw WCU on a trip where she volunteered to help with Special Olympics when she was in junior high and thought “WOW I love this place.” She tells us that her mind was blown by all the possibilities of the things she could achieve coming from a small town. She is an Alumni 98′ BS Social Work, 95′ Associate General Education SCC and long-term working on another BS in Forensic Anthropology. Her favorite part of her job is getting to meet people from all over the world. Moxie loves to kayak, camp, hike and she is a textile artist! We are so glad Moxie is a part of Staff Senate! She brings so much energy to everything she does, and we are so grateful for her!
